Leadership Evaluation and Development Through CliftonStrengths
Introduction
Effective leadership is rooted in self-awareness, continuous development, and the ability
to empower others. Understanding one’s strengths provides a strong foundation for cultivating a
leadership style that is both authentic and impactful. The CliftonStrengths assessment is a
valuable tool for identifying individual talents and translating them into effective leadership
behaviors. (Gallup, Inc., 2012) This paper examines five key strengths— Arranger, Belief,
Developer, Learner, and Positivity—and explores how these traits shape a leadership identity
grounded in Servant Leadership. Additionally, this evaluation identifies the strengths and
challenges of this leadership approach and outlines actionable strategies and goals for continued
growth and development.
CliftonStrengths and Leadership Identity
Once reviewing the results of the CliftonStrengths assessment (Gallup, Inc., 2012), I
identified core characteristics that influence how I lead, communicate, and interact with others.
Among the five identified strengths, Developer and Positivity play a central role in shaping a
relationship-oriented leadership approach.
As a leader with the Developer strength trait, investing in the growth and success of
others and finding internal fulfillment in mentoring, encouraging, and recognizing achievements
are inherent. This strength aligns effortlessly with leadership traits that prioritize team
