1. What Is the TOEFL?
TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. It is the world's most widely accepted English-language
proficiency test, recognised by more than 11,500 universities and institutions in over 160 countries — including
virtually every university in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia.
The version almost everyone takes today is the TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based Test). It measures how well you use
English in an academic setting — reading articles, listening to lectures, speaking opinions, and writing essays.
