Moleculer orbital theory
Molecular Orbital Theory states that when two atoms combine to form a molecule, their atomic orbitals overlap and form molecular orbitals. These orbitals belong to the entire molecule rather than to individual atoms. Electrons fill the molecular orbitals according to their energy levels. Bonding orbitals increase the stability of a molecule, while antibonding orbitals decrease its stability. This theory helps explain chemical bonding, molecular stability, and magnetic properties of molecules.
