In this task I will describe the role internet marketing has within a modern marketing
context. And I will describe and analyze how EasyJet and Amazon use internet
marketing.
Internet marketing is all about finding out what customers want, expect from the
business and finally introducing the product or service online. This way of marketing
has a lot of benefits because it can increase the organization profit and will also help
the business to get a lot more customers. This is because the internet has a very
wide range and is worldwide available. Internet is a quick way for a business to
connect with their customers and it is very easy to promote products or services.
Especially when businesses want to operate on a global level.




Easyjet
EasyJet Airline Company Limited, styled as easyJet, is a British low-cost airline
headquartered at London Luton Airport. It operates domestic and international
scheduled services on over 1,000 routes in more than 30 countries. EasyJet has
seen expansion since its establishment in 1995, having grown through a combination
of acquisitions and base openings fuelled by consumer demand for low-cost air
travel. The airline, along with associate companies easyJet Europe and easyJet
Switzerland, operate more than 200 aircraft, mostly Airbus A320.

Amazon
Amazon is the largest e-commerce marketplace and cloud computing platform in the
world as measured by revenue and market capitalization. Amazon.com was founded
by Jeff Bezos on July 5, 1994, and started as an online bookstore but later diversified
to sell video downloads/streaming, MP3 downloads/streaming, audiobook

, downloads/streaming, software, video games, electronics, apparel, furniture, food,
toys, and jewelry.




Amazon is a business which use Internet marketing very excessively and efficiently.
Internet marketing plays a large part in contributing or highlighting the need for
effective identification of new markets, especially for Easy jet and Amazon because
their whole business is an internet based organization. With good marketing
research, they can find out how to advertise in a way to reach their targeted
audience.
Easy jet is using the advantages of internet marketing to promote their services in
many ways. With their website, that they offer to their customers in more than 15
different languages, they are making use of attractive advertisements like; ‘’Where
are you going?’’ or ‘’100 holidays for $100’’. Easy jet is doing this in a way customer
friendly website which contains easy and clear information with a good overview.
Online advertising such as using different search engines is a way contributing and
highlighting their service. Social networking like Myspace, Facebook and Twitter
contributes to highlight the need for effective identification of new market
development opportunities.
Easy jet and Amazon are based online and most of their marketing is done on the
internet. The very first way of internet marketing is done on their own website
www.easyjet.com. With this marketing, they highlight the current trends and flights.
Customers can also register on the website to as Easy jet is saying; ‘’be among the
first to hear about our promotions, new routes, schedule launches and other great
travel deals.’’ With this registration, you can also add booking reference so Easy jet
can send you the travel deals that you like.
My conclusion is that internet marketing definitely contributes and highlights the need
for effective identification of new marketing development opportunities.
Internet marketing enables more effective targeting. Because with all the tracking of
the search behavior and the information that Easy Jet and Amazon have from the
customers that created their own account, they gained different variables such as
demographic, economic and psychographic information. For example; with good
economic information, they can advertise to the right persons with the right travel
deals. Do you live in a relatively rich environment, Easy jet will advertise with more
expensive travel deals. The other way around they do the same with less rich people.
