What is an Operating System

An Operating system (OS) is a software which acts as an edge between the end
operator and computer hardware.
Every computer must have at least one OS to run other programs. An
application like Chrome, MS Word, Games, etc. needs some atmosphere in
which it will run and perform its mission.
The OS helps us to connect with the computer without knowing how to express
the computer's language. It is not possible for the operator to use any computer
or mobile device without having an operating system.

,Importance of operating system

By any standard of portion, an operating system is the most perilous software
installed on a computer.
Not only does an operating system act as the administrator of many computer
procedures, but it also allows operators to harness the control of the various
sound, graphics and memory assets within the computer's hardware
organization.
For the vast common of operators today, a computer would be useless if it did
not comprise some form of an operating system.
Popular technology culture has presented most of us to one of the two major
operating systems in use: macOS and the Windows operating system. Although
these systems function in exclusively different ways, the services they provide
to operators are comparatively comparable.
With that in mind, taking the time to recognize the importance of an operating
system can help ensure that we have the data we need to find the right computer
for our needs.
