Importance of Holistic Health and Fitness


The word holistic has become such a buzzword in recent times, most evidently, citing

its notion from wholeness. It is the practice that treats all proponents of a subject with equal

respect – acknowledging that each plays a fundamental yet integral role. The same is

replicated in health and Fitness, where we focus on all parts of our existence. This includes

body, mind, and soul. All three are enmeshed to determine the quality of life we live – with

benefits that address mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Therefore, this paper

describes in detail the advantages of upholding a holistic sense of health and Fitness (H2F),

not only to the commoner but also to our beloved soldiers.


Physical Benefits of H2F


When it comes to health and Fitness, the first aspect of our well-being that pops up is

the physique. We think of our body's attributes, the details in shape and size, and how they

appear on us. Collectively, every piece of our physical self curves a specific perception of us

and further describes the physical energy we carry. If we uphold good health and fitness

procedures, we exhibit and experience the following benefits.


Better physical looks. Implying proper dietary habits and regular fitness regimen sets

a precedent for looking good. The body harnesses the necessary nutrients and vitamins

needed for cell regeneration and replication. This goes into the cell, tissue, and muscle

development. With time, the body accentuates one's eating habits and physical activities,

enhancing response to these nutrients and, collectively, relaying the benefits through

bodybuilding Harrington et al., (2018). Eventually, one becomes well-toned with the

necessary endowments; for instance, men gain lean muscles in several areas, including

quadriceps, antebrachium, triceps, and gastrocnemius. For females, theirs occurs in the

hamstrings, gluteus maximus, calves, obliques, et cetera.


Bone health improvement. Proper bone structures are a result of regular exercising

and an adequate calcium quantity. These bones provide foundational merit to body

coordination because all organs and mobile parts are in constant harmony. Simultaneously,

through their articulation with the muscles, movement is enhanced with better elasticity and

flexibility rates. A proper bone structure is also the source of balance in the body Ho et al.,

(2017). All anatomic proponents are anchored by bones that hold each part together,

connecting them to carry out life activities. Consequently, the organs benefit from the

protection offered due to the shielding property. That is tenacity.


Balance can also be expressed in the sense of posture and movement. In other terms,

healthy bones are responsible for the orientation of one's physic, achieved by maintaining a

symmetrical stance. While walking, running, or other locomotion, they propagate the entire

process with minimal chances of falling or ineffectiveness, better known as the risk of fall.

Having strong bones alleviates the potential risk of fractures and dislocation, among other

injuries due to high calcium content.


Reduction of health risks. Generally, some factors enhance the chances of our bodies

contracting diseases. When exposed to such risk factors, we become vulnerable and the

immunity – our body's protective mechanism – may become compromised. However,

following up on H2F is fundamental in boosting immunity across the body's various

components. In this case, the mind and body are strong enough to deal with any contrasting

elements that threaten optimum body functions. By integrating healthy meal plans such as

regularly eating exotic fruits, e.g., kiwi, pomegranates, cherimoyas, durian, mangosteens, and

so forth, the body is given a fighting chance against toxins, bacteria, fungus, amongst other
