Food Movements
Amongst all the blessings the bestowed on earth, food is an all-time favourite for every
human. It is the only substance that everyone thrives on daily. The diet involves everything we
eat and drink, consumed with a primary purpose to induce longevity through its nutrients.
Besides that, food also holds an aesthetic aspect to itself, which in this case may be for leisure, as
a way of enhancing our life experience. With it comes the factor of diversifying our menus by
using recipes that are imbued with different tastes and emotions abound. Therefore, this paper
discusses how food has been perceived through generations and the considered attributes for its
movements.
Food movements have transcended over time with different trending agendas. In some
ages, food may have been considered as a pure nutritional input whereas some may see it as a
way of bonding, for instance, with the family and all the boring aunts during thanksgiving. Be
that as it may, food movements have been acknowledged on a fundamental level to offer
different perspectives on how we view what we eat. For one, it has been majorly factored
through generational mutation (Holt Gimenez, 115). An excellent example of food trends in the
current keto means plan. The ketogenic diet consists of low carbohydrate quantities, higher-
levels of fat and some moderance on proteins. The essence of this diet plan is to induce better
personal health, as backed up in more than 50 studies. Most notably, the program comes in as

one of the most viable inputs of loss of excess body fats. Other than that, keto helps in
acclimatizing large proportions in the body’s abdominal cavity, reducing the triglycerides mostly
found in the bloodstream, reducing insulin and sugar levels, suppressed blood pressure and
useful metabolic syndromes. Metabolic syndromes may include low amounts of good cholesterol
and abdominal obesity.
Another trend is the sugar shift. Though so unpopular, it a food movement that is
inclusive of the people who are primary sugar intolerant. In its advent, manufacturers and
confectionery brands had to re-structure their market approach to accommodate a better
perception of these kinds of people. They established a guilt-free notion, in that sugar
concentrations were reduced in relevant products. England alone implied a 2.9% reduction of
sugar content on their products through the England Public Health body in the last quarter of
2018 (Alkon, Alison & Hope, 352). The main reason for this was to suppress the number of
cases from the three sister diseases, most importantly, hypertension and diabetes. It is also noted
that both disorders have further health implications, which can aid in multiple infections since
they affect most physiological processes. Be that as it may, it is one meal trend that is sure to be
embraced widely in the future.
Moreover, food movements go beyond the concept of nutrition and act as platforms to
either commemorate a special event or rather set forth a specific schedule. Some of the food
movements advocate for rights while others may be a medium of celebrating an occasion. One of
these kinds of changes in the allotments boom. In both emerging and developing market
countries, the concept of urban gardens implies a more significant cause. It sensitizes matters
relating to carbon footprints and not only food security challenges. The movement acknowledges
that most emissions come from urban environments due to a higher index of activities as
