STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONS
1. Cell Wall: -Protects and supports cell
-Only found in Plant Cells
2. Cell Membrane: -Protects the cell with a phospholipid bilayer
-Regulates what passes in and out of cell
3. Cytoplasm: -Jelly-like interior that fills the cells interior
-Hold all organelles in place
4. Nucleus: -The control centre of the cell
-Contains genetic material
-Large organelles surrounded by nuclear membrane
5. Nucleolus: -A dense area in the nucleus
-Where ribosomes are produced
6. Mitochondria: -Tiny, sausage-shapes organelle
-Provides the cell with energy
-The site of aerobic cellular respiration to provide energy (ATP) for other organelles
7. Ribosome: -Multi-spheric spheres attached to the Rough ER or floating in the
Cytoplasm
-Makes proteins
8. Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER): -A network of canals to transport materials
