, One of the most impactful concepts I gained from this course was the
importance of applying evidence-based clinical decision-making across
common primary care conditions affecting the maturing and aging
population. Learning how to assess, diagnose, and manage chronic
conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, depression, musculoskeletal
disorders, and neurologic disease reinforced the value of treating the whole
patient rather than only addressing isolated symptoms. Another concept
that stood out was the importance of prevention, patient education, and
early intervention to reduce complications and improve quality of life. I
envision using these concepts in my future nursing practice as a master’s
prepared nurse by providing patient-centered care that combines current
clinical guidelines, individualized treatment planning, and compassionate
communication. This course strengthened my confidence in selecting
appropriate diagnostics, initiating treatment plans, and recognizing when
referral or escalation of care is necessary (American Diabetes Association
Professional Practice Committee, 2024; American Heart Association,
2023).
The course learning activities and assignments strongly supported
Program Outcome 5 by promoting positive health outcomes through
compassionate, evidence-based, and collaborative advanced nursing
practice. Weekly case studies and discussion assignments required the use
of scholarly evidence, clinical guidelines, and team-based treatment
