Acute care hospital setting
Acute care setting is a significant health care level whereby patients are treated for
transitory but severe diseases and during retrieval from surgical operation. This setting includes
emergency departments, coronary care, intensive care, cardiology, together with several other
general areas (Connolly, 2019). There are many interprofessional teams such as doctors, nurses,
therapists, and physician assistants associated in various sections of this location in this setting.
These teams have diverse skills, knowledge, and talents that combine to achieve a specific goal
—this collaboration results in improved staff know-how, documentation, interprofessional
relation, and communication.
Interprofessional team's unity can help in the improvement of health care in various
ways. Some of these ways include preventing medical errors, improving patient experience, and
