Introduction
Abortion is simply a way to end an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy. Abortion has been a topic
of debate from many years. Different people have different views on abortion. Some people
believe that it is right while others are against this practice. There are many anti-abortion groups
who protest against the practice of abortion outside of Planned Parenthood.
Abortion has recently gained more attention as several states have passed laws to make it illegal.
These states consider abortions illegal regardless of any circumstances faced by the mother.
Anyone involved in this practice is punishable by the law. Due to all these obligations and laws
women are now using unsafe methods to terminate pregnancy. These unsafe methods are causing
more harm than good and can lead to death.
Some people are also trying to make abortion illegal in cases like rape. They say that even if a
woman is raped she should give birth to the child, it should be illegal for a woman to abort in
such cases. It is a matter of concern as women are more emotional than men and to deal with
something like this is really hard for them. It will remind them daily about that incident and can
make them mentally unstable. In some cases, women are not mature enough and it is very hard to
, raise a child at such a young age. In recent years many laws have been passed that took away
control from women of their own body. Also, governing bodies are making things illegal that
were previously considered legal.
Thesis:
The purpose of this paper is to explain the situation of abortion and why should abortion be made
legal and women should have the right to choose what happens to the baby. Also, the effect of
giving birth to an unwanted baby on women’s physical and mental health.
Annotations:
Nucceteli. S. (Mar, 2017). Abortion for fetal defects: two current arguments. Retrieved from:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28353031/
In this article Nucceteli discussed if parents have the right to abort their child who has genetical
abnormalities. Some people feel that to give birth to a child who cannot sustain life on his own is
not right and they should be aborted. Having a pregnancy with fetal abnormalities will have a
negative effect on everyone who is related. Therefore, it is immoral to go on with such
pregnancy
(Nucceteli, 2017). People who are against the idea of circumstantial abortion believe that there is
a possibility that peoples with birth defects can live a normal life. There are many examples
where people with such defects have accomplished a lot in their life and they live a successful
happy life.
