Answer- One day, Grandfather saw a that a tonga-driver
used to keep the little red monkey tied to a feeding-trough, and
the monkey looked so uncomfortable and dull there that
Grandfather could not help himself but to take the monkey
home. Grandfather bught the monkey for five rupees. Thus the
monkey was added in his private zoo.
Q.2. “TOTO WAS A PRETTY MONKEY.” IN WHAT SENSE IS
TOTO PRETTY?
Answer: Toto was a pretty monkey in the sense that he
possessed bright eyes, which sparkled with mischief beneath
deep set eyebrows, And his pearly white teeth, which were very
often displayed in a smile that frightened the life out of Anglo-
Indian Ladies.

Answer: Toto was now transferred to a big cage in the
servants’ quarters where a number of Grandfather’s pets lived
very sociably together. But the monkey did not have the want
to let any of his companions to sleep at night. So Grandfather
