TEACHER LANGUAGE
T - Hello students, how are you all doing?
Class - We are fine sir.
T - Everyone pay close attention to what I am about to tell you, I need you all to rearrange
yourselves and sit in groups of 6. We are going to study a piece of article by award winning writer
Summer Avery and understand how her past affected her choices in her current life.
(Projects headline and pictures from reading text onto screen and gives students worksheets to
distribute among themselves).
So, this is what we are going to do, first, you have to have group discussions among yourselves and
figure out from the title what you think the article is all about. Secondly, each group needs to
identify two pictures from the seven displayed on the board as fast as you can. Now let’s start.
(After 4 minutes)
T - Time’s up. Each group should have a representative come forward and explain to the class what
they think the article is all about and identify two pictures from the few displayed on the board. Do
you all understand?
Class - Yes we do.
(Each group selects a representative)
Possible answers from students
Group 1- The article is talking about Life choices and the pictures we can identify are of a bus and
villagers.
Group 2- The article is talking about lifestyle and the pictures we can identify are of a meeting and
a lorry.
Group 3- The article is talking about travelers and the pictures we can identify are of a villagers
and a bus.
Group 4- The article is talking about life decisions and the pictures we can identify are of angry

T- That is wonderful, you all did very well. Now with the worksheets you all have, the next activity
is matching words with meanings that best describe them and you have 5 minutes to do this. Okay,
let’s start.
(Students attempt the matching activity and submit to the teacher. After proper review of students
work, teacher and students have discussions about which they got right and the ones they failed)
Now class for the next activity, we would need to go over a few items and you tell me what you
think about them. Are you ready?
S- Yes sir we are.
