HIST 405 - WEEK 4 HISTORIAL ESSAY During the 1780’s, America was facing many issues in this year. The economic crisis took place in this year as well. As this fight came to an end all exports were restricted to Britain. During this war independence was declared, the new republican governments known as the state and to solve economic issues and taxes which eventually Hamilton idea of paying off the debt would bring better relations with other countries. We were also facing foreign Issues as well as military rebellion. All this lead from the articles of confederation, to starting the new constitution of America. The first written constitution of The United States was The Articles of Confederation. This articles helped America to become more independent. Now, the congress had the authority to make treaties and alliances. Also to maintain armed forces and coin money as well. During the Revolutionary War outbreak of the thirteen American colonies caused a need of a government to replace the British system. The first attempt of the founding fathers was to governance around the Articles of Confederation. The Articles of Confederation, were first proposed at the second continental congress in 1771 in Philadelphia. It was approved and put in effect on 1781. The new Constitution was signed in 1787, due to the dissatisfaction of the Articles of Confederation. The new constitution consist of three branches known as executive, legislative and judicial. The Bill of Rights, which consist of the 10 amendments which guaranteed protection such as Freedom of speech and religion. Now, this became part of the new constitution that was passed on 1791. The constitution also had what known as the “Farmers” and the delegates which were a group of merchants, farmers, bankers and lawyers. The articles of confederation established a weak government and was regulate trade and levy taxes in America.
