Introduction
The need for digitizing operations at Precision Electronic Parts (PEP), Inc is an imperative
process especially due to the innovation of low voltage motors. The company has experienced
tremendous improvement in business operations including an increase in orders placed by
customers. As such, customer service in billing and payments has been the challenge to company
operations. Therefore, in order to solve the challenge, the finance department team initiated the
investigation into the challenge. Chief information officer (CIO) by the name Mark Temple
together with his team performed an investigation to determine solutions to the challenge. Hence,
a new customer billing and payment system has been proposed for Precision Electronic Parts
(PEP), Inc.
Problem to be solved
Customer service is an important operation for growing company such as Precision Electronic
Parts (PEP). The company expansion rate calls for the need to expand including upgrading its
information systems. Specifically, PEP has experienced increase in customer base brought about
innovation of low voltage. Thus, the leadership team of the company including CEO, COO, CIO,
and CFO is concerned about upgrading the current in-house developed Microsoft Access based
solution to a new customer billing and payments system.
Findings
Scope of proposed system
The name of the proposed system is customer billing and payment system. The new system will
have the scope of providing customer services including preparing invoices to customers who
place orders to purchase low voltage motors. Increase in customer base due to this innovation
