NUR 511: WEEK 3 DISCUSSION

Dr. Williams and Class Katie, 65 year old female, a well-dressed woman looking her stated age sitting on the exam table Subjective CC: Cough HPI: O: started a week ago L: Chest, throat D: a week, daily when she takes her walks C: wakes her up. Her chest is starting to hurt from all the coughing. She has noticed that she has been more tired and gets easily winded when she takes her daily walks. Doesn’t have energy. A: worse at night, easily winded when she takes her daily walks R: not provided T: not provided S: not provided Current Medications: Takes a daily multivitamin, Evista 60 mg daily and HCTZ 25 mg daily. Allergies: seasonal allergies to pollen and reports hayfever. She is allergic to Demerol, it makes her vomit. PMH: Had chicken pox, measles and rubella as a child. Katie has a history of osteopenia, HTN and hyperlipidemia. No past injuries. Had surgeries for tonsillectomy, cholecystectomy, and childbirth. Social: Married to John, they live with their married daughter and her family. Takes care of the kids and home as Mary and her husband work. No alcohol or tobacco use Family History: No history provided for her parents. Her husband and son-in-law both smoke, but not in the house.
