SPSS for this assignment. You may complete this assignment using the variables and topic which you
have chosen for your Final Portfolio Project. You will then be able to follow this as a guide as well as a
check-point with your instructor. It is essential that you read through all of the feedback regardless of
your score. You will be required to submit an SPSS output file with this assignment for credit. However,
you must copy and paste all relevant output data into this document for credit. Throughout the
assignment you will see places where your tables, charts, and graphs can be placed.
You may need to go back through the document to address formatting issues that may shift as you begin

(A) My Purpose
The purpose of the study is to investigate domestic violence in the families of the law
officers .Data from the General Social Survey for the year 2014 will be used for this
analysis. Various variables will be applied for the investigation
(B) All About My Sample
1. Who are the participants: The participants are citizens of the United States of America who
took part in the General Social Survey
2. Who is funding the research? The research was funded by the government of the United
States of America.
3. When was my data collected? The data was collected in 2014
4. How was my data collected? Administration of questionnaires
5. Who do my participants represent? Who is the population? The participants are residents
of United States of America and the population consists of 2538 respondents.
(C) Variables
IV Question The IVs were sex and age variables
Answer categories: The categories included 0 or 1 representing male and females respectively in the sex
variable while age was from 18 years
DV Question The Dvs were religion preference and hours per week of occupation
Answer categories: The respondents were tasked to identify their denomination for the religion variable
and 40 hours was mostly resonded to in the hours variable.
