MHA 506/Ethical Marketing: The New Health Care Economics
It has been projected that the global health industry was worth $8.45 trillion in 2018
and could potentially reach over $10 trillion by next year. Television has a huge influence on
health care advertising, more than social media, print or online searches. Advertising has 3
primary purposes: to apprise, convince and prompt. Advertising has helped to produce
realization of brands, products, services, and ideas. It introduces new products and programs
and can prepare people for the advantages of new or customary products and/or services. In
my research, I simply input 3 Mental Health Agencies near me to view their advertisements
for services comparable to those provided by my employer. The deconstruction of Triangle
Springs Mental Health Treatment, Oak Street Health and Mind Path Care Centers was quite
intriguing as I’ve not previously given thought to how we measure up to our surrounding
competition. I was unable to speculate on their advertising budget as I assume that
information is privileged.
Trade-offs
The trade-offs with each agency I researched were a stark contrast to the agency I’m
currently employed by. Triangle Springs focuses on Recovery and Wellness and listed an
array of Mental Health disorders they provide services for on their Home Page. They offer
emergency services 24/7 and listed a ‘no-obligation’ assessment to potential consumers.
There was no mention of a Provider Bio but did offer the option to complete a virtual tour or
a photo gallery of their facility. Oak Street Health is a primary care facility that modeled
services that include medical, social and behavioral health. They offer an assortment of
specialized services and all care can be utilized under the same ‘umbrella’. MindPath Care
