Introduction
I have chosen to write the following paper on the MMORPGS Hotel Hideaway. Hotel
Hideaway was developed by Sulake. It has more than 300,000 monthly active players worldwide
(1). One of the latest updates included a lot of new features. Including the ability for gamers to
virtually hang out and chat with people around the world.
Cognitive Social Phenomenon
Social cognition focuses on how people process, store, and apply information about other
people and social situations (2), the social phenomenon. Hotel Hideaway allows gamers in real-
time to interact with people all over the world. As well as play games to win clothing, stickers,
and colours for your avatar. As an avatar you observe others and what they are wearing, how
they are acting, and communicating with one another. Using that information, you decide to send
a friend invite. Playing this game dressing to impress is the key to having more friends or
“increase your star ranking”. You can choose to play this game at the beach, a garden party, the
gala, a museum, school, or even become a spy.
