Usability Evaluation
CIS375: Human-Computer Interaction
When conducting an online questionnaire, there are a lot of things that you must consider. There
are positive and negative things that come with doing a survey. The positive things when
conducting a questionnaire is feedback. When you are an owner, company, or writer the thing
that you need and want from a reader, or consumer is the feedback that they provide. Feedback is
what helps you as the person conducting the questionnaire is knowing what users want or prefer.
Also knowing what the user and consumer truly feels about your product because it will let you
know what to change and adjust within your company and product. Another positive thing about
providing questionnaires is the ease of use, it is a simple way to collect data and interact with the
consumers. You can send out thousands or millions of surveys with the ability to analyze the
results as soon as they come in. Lastly being able to receive information anonymously is a
positive aspect of surveys because people like to give their opinions and feedback but do not
always want to be recognized for it. The negative aspects of conducting surveys and
questionnaires are also the feedback. Feedback is positive and negative because you always want
and encourage it but do not always like it, sometimes the feedback you receive from the
consumers for the product that you thought was going to be homerun for you turns out to be
something that was not well received by the consumers.
After giving an online questionnaire you must collect the data that was given. To make sure that
you can rely on the data being collected, you must test them. Everyone that administers a
questionnaire wants to make sure that they can use the information. To speculate the data, you
must make sure that the questionnaire was given to the right intended group. With doing that I
was able to make sure the data was accurate. The audience that was targeted for this
, questionnaire are individuals that like to read and read books online. They were asked a couple
of questions, on the way the like to read books. Whether that be online or a regular hard copy.
The data that was collect was analyzed by going through the results that was collect by the
participants. They ranged from different ages, just so we were able to get different feedback from
all age groups. I was able to see what the results were from the data collect, and sort them out by
different age groups. Once I did that, I was able to analyze them by what the results collected. I
was able to look at the results and see what the individuals chose for there results. It gave me all
the answers that I needed.
Data validation is essential to any data. If you are the one collecting data, and it is not accurate,
the results will not be accurate either. It is important to validate the data that is given so nothing
is inaccurate, and not useful to use. The first method that I would use is a software system. With
running the results through a system, you can make specific steps to validate the data. You are
also able within the software system to make specific requirements for the data that is given.
Meaning if there are data that is invalid the software will catch it. Another method that I would
use is to collect the data at a specific audience. In this questionnaire it was geared to people that I
know like to read. You must make sure that the audience that you are trying to get feedback from
takes the survey. It would not be accurate to let someone take the survey that does not like to
read. The survey would not be accurate at all because you are targeting the wrong crowd. The
more people that you can get to take the survey the better. After you collect, and tried those two
methods, then you can clean the data that was given. There are other methods that will work as
well, but for the data that I collected, I believe that these two methods will be the most accurate.
Just creating a survey is the first steps, it is the ending steps that support the work.
Using an online questionnaire website was both simple and challenging. This was my first time
conducting a survey and using a computer to do so. I thought that it was going to be easy, but it
was much harder than I thought it was going to be. The first challenging thing that I notice was
