Operations Planning for a Group Medical Practice
HSA546-Physician’s Practice Management
Strayer University
As the head advisor of this newly established organization, I would like to implement a
successful method that will permit effective running. Striving for excellence and providing
exceptional care for our patrons with the least amount of danger that come practicing medicine.
The facility must be attentive of things that can have an extensive effect in the practice such as
natural disasters; these examples I am planning for and have attention on. There must be a plan
of action for all emergency circumstances and be ready to service our patients and communities
like nothing has happen. Bench marketing is the practice of a business comparing key metrics
of their operations to related companies (Wolper, 2013). There are two kinds of bench
marketing that is used in healthcare organizations, internal and external. Both bench marketing
have functions and they have correlations and differences. Internal benchmarking analyzes the
outcomes of one department, team, or individual within a facility to another. It is then decided
which facility or method gives the best outcomes. The internal practice will be endorsed by
teams or persons and other departments that are a part of the organization that are aiming to
enhance throughout their facility. An illustration of a level performance benchmark that
management wants all shifts to accomplish would be a facility that is elated with the actions of
the third shift production department. Their loss is regularly 15% lower then the other shifts
(Hollinger, 2015). The internal practice will be enforced by teams or persons and other
departments that are in the organization that are trying to better their organization. An
illustration of a level performance benchmark is the leadership team wants all shifts to achieve
, the set goals of the organization. If this is accomplished, the organization is elated with the
work performed
by the third shifts production department. Their misuse is usually 15% lower than the other
shifts (Hollinger, 2015). An examination of practices and methods by third shifts will be done.
The organization will focus on the interpretation of management goals, collaboration, and set-up
methods. They will focus on things that will assist in determining how and why third shift
outcomes are more prosperous than the other two shifts. That examination is called
internal benchmarking. The conclusions will then be distributed with the other shifts’
manager and instructions are developed to where changes can and need to be made.
External benchmarking is the most common when the analyses are done. This procedure
correlates the statistical information with other organizations within the market. The
information then goes into a statement and is viewed by your leadership team. The best
application from the compared organizations will then be implemented by your company. For
example, the media industry performs annual benchmarking. The report collects information
from numerous media companies worldwide and assembles it into one document. The
information consists of distribution size, number of pages, advertisement sizes, news sizes,
number of hours used in each department, how many sales are made per hour, collection stats,
etc. This analyzation is made visible to anyone who took a part in the report or anyone wishing
to buy it (Hollinger, 2015).
I propose that HIT implementation that deploys multilevel and multidimensional
analysis to comprehend the HIT implementation process, drawing from the two theoretical
approaches. The two approaches are information technology (IT) implementation and a new
sociotechnical design. The IT implementation framework states that IT use is hard,
multidimensional, and shaped by an assortment of components at individual and organizational
degrees and success in accomplishing change is improved by active cooperation of individuals
from a specific user group. The new sociotechnical design focuses to study HIT in difficult
flexible healthcare systems and advises the examination of the 8 different components:
