The impact of Triple Aim Goals
Introduction:
The IHI Triple Aim framework was developed by the “Institute for Healthcare
Improvement” as an approach to optimize healthcare and the systems performance. The belief
behind the work is to improve patient experience of care, improve health populations,
and reduce healthcare cost. The initial goal of the triple aim is to deliver excellence and help
those struggling to afford their healthcare. The triple aim goals allow healthcare organizations to
identify issues that the facility is encountering and give them the opportunity to fix the problems.
For example, problems that can include poor coordination of care and overuse of medical
services.
The Impact of Implementing Triple Aim Goals:
It is extremely important for the patient to know that they are receiving the care they
need. With triple aim goals in place, it can help organizations improve quality care and the
satisfaction of their patients. This is the most important thing for organizations to continue; a
good patient satisfaction rating is key to optimal service. One way to achieve this goal would
implement questionnaires for patients to answer after receiving services in the facility. Patients
would be able to rate their experience online giving people with social media a chance to post
their thoughts electronically. The rating would give healthcare systems a better connection with
patients and change the quality of care.
