Assignment 2: Critical Treats to the Global Environment

Introduction
The United Nations has continued to retain me as a consultant for a project that deals
with climate and the environment. Most developed countries see the dangers of
releasing too much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and are committed to climate
policies that attain a carbon-free future in the next 30 years. They already see the
damaging effects that this gas alone is having on the living conditions of crops, wildlife,
and humans. As a result, many member states are dissatisfied with the progress of the
eight Millennium Development Goals for international development that they established
in 2000. In this persuasive paper I am first going to address the treats that are hitting the
developed and developing countries the first to discuss will be one of the greatest pandemics that
has hit the world not just in the developing countries but developed as well, would be Covid -19
and the Global Pandemic and then the next I will discuss
would be the danger of poor countries remaining poor. This is an issue that is very much so real
and with the pandemic this is moving them to continue to be of a poor status. In these Two treats
we are going to Identify the factors that make it such a serious risk to the global environment.
Next, we are going to analyze the role that humans have played in aggravating in this treat to the
earth’s environment. Then we are going to suggest initiatives that the global community can take
to mitigate the worst effects of the environmental treat. Then lastly, I will summarize my
impressions of these risk for global stability.
, Covid-19 and the Global Pandemic
Covid-19 started off as a public health emergency of international concern in
January of 2020. When it came in it came in slowly and as it worked it way through the
region it started to pick up rapid speed an infecting people and taking the lives of some. By
March of 2020, the world health organization issued us in a pandemic. At this point it was now
affecting hundreds of thousands of people all over the world. That is within a spanned of three
months this virus was affecting many rapidly. When identifying some factors that make it a risk
would be the fact that trying to identify people who are symptomatic and asymptomatic. When
it comes to the wide spread of covid-19, trying to identify people who are hospitalized versus
those who are not. And identifying those who need ICU care verses others not infected by the
virus. They tried to narrow down who will be affected by this virus but because the virus was
new it was hard to just narrow it down. When Identifying how it will affect the global
environment is that most major economies will lose at least 2.9 percent of their gross domestic
product (GDP) over 2020. This forecast was already restated to a GDP loss of 4.5 percent. To
put this number in perspective, global GDP was estimated at around 87.55 trillion U.S. dollars in
2019, meaning that a 4.5 percent drop in economic growth results in almost
3.94 trillion U.S. dollars of lost economic output[ CITATION MSz21 \l 1033 ].
The role that humans play in the covid-19 global pandemic is major because humans are
the carrier with this virus. When mandates are put in place for people to follow and they choose
to operate how they feel the need to causes issues and viruses as such become widespread
rapidly. Another way they play a major role is wearing their mask the proper way which is over
the nose and the mouth. People not wanting to avoid large gathering not abiding by the social
distancing rule that was put in place. When it comes to the vaccine that was made to counter act
Covid-19 some people are not for getting the vaccination. This is a way for humans to play a
positive role in the covid-19 pandemic is to get the shot or either to get infected by the virus the
more people come in, contact with the virus the more they become immune to the virus and the
