Introduction
Over the last fifty years, the average earth temperatures have risen as the quickest rate in
recorded history. Experts see the trend is hastening. Climate change deniers have claimed that
the escalating global temperatures have slowed down, however various studies have objected to
this claim. Scientists argue that unless global warning discharges are curbed, average U.S
temperatures might escalate up to ten degrees Fahrenheit in the next century. Global warming
ensues when CO2 and other air pollutants and greenhouse gases amass in the air and absorb
sunlight and solar energy that have rebounded off the earth’s surface. Characteristically, this
radiation leakage into the air, still these toxins, which exist for years in the air entrap the heat and
make the earth to become warmer. It is what is termed as the greenhouse effect. In the U.S, fossil
fuel burning to make electricity is the biggest heat-trapping pollution source, generating almost
two billion CO2 tons yearly. The biggest polluters are coal- sweltering power plants, and the
transportation sector is the second-biggest carbon pollution source, which produced almost 1.7B
CO2 tons of emissions yearly. Curtailing hazardous climate change needs very unfathomable
cuts in emissions and also using other alternatives to fossil fuels globally. America began using
energy effectual technology and cleaner fuels usage. Similarly, scientists are always developing
new methods of modernizing powerplants, generating cleaner electricity, and burning less
gasoline while people drive. The challenge is ensuring that these solutions are implemented and
extensively adopted.
Current Global Warming Status in America
Trump administration has opposed its predecessor’s climate change policies and there is
no reason to anticipate legislative action of any sort amid the 116th Congress. Trump sanctioned
unfettered oil, coal production, and natural gas. Trump gave executive order instructing all
