ARTISTIC EXPRESSION- CONCEPT OF CARING 1 The Art of Caring Name Chamberlain College of Nursing NR 500: Foundational Concepts and Application Date The Art of Caring: Caring as a Future Nurse Practitioner Nurses practice the concept of caring when they reflect on their practice and don’t stay focused on the signs and symptoms, but also includes the spiritual connections in protecting, enhancing and preserving the health of people (Adams, 2016). Caring in nursing is very important as it is associated with improved patient outcomes, a higher degree of harmony with the mind and soul, it helps in developing self-awareness and interpersonal relationship between the patients and the nurse. When nurses adopt an interpersonal teaching-learning environment in their care, they empower patients, and the patients in return become more actively involved in their care (Tan, 2015). This paper will focus on my own definition of caring, its importance and how it is essential to being successful as a Nurse Practitioner.
