Paulding county fire & rescue department is the organization that I have a special interest
in. It provides fire protection, emergency services, and rescue services. It has 200 employees and
an estimated budget of 13 million US dollars. Its mission includes promoting fire prevention,
provision of inspections, and investigations and provision of emergency services to reduce
injuries during accidents. Paulding is organized in a paramilitary structure. A paramilitary
organizational structure is a semi-militarized force that adopts a corporate structure similar to
that of the military. Although it is not an official armed force, Paulding County fire & rescue
follows the tactics, subculture, and training.
Paulding county fire & rescue is a department dealing with emergencies; thus, teamwork
is key as it determines its outcomes. When the teamwork is effective, the department can
accomplish its objective compared to when the teamwork is ineffective[ CITATION Die15 \l
1033 ]. The department has put in place some policies that benefit teamwork, and they include,
firstly, the use of the military culture enables the workers to have a team spirit. The military
always works as a team and shares the same goals and vision[ CITATION Eff19 \l 1033 ].
Thus, when the same is implemented in the department, the team spirit enables the workers to
effectively work as a team, thus accomplishing the department's objectives.
Secondly, the department ensures efficient mediation of conflicts among the workers. The
efficient mediation ensures that the workers are always on good terms with each other; thus, they
can effectively cooperate[ CITATION Mel14 \l 1033 ]. Solving the conflicts also enables the
