My concerns as a manager with the change of transitioning to a multinational
corporation would be does my leadership style with the diversity of employees. How do I
understand the cultural and social norms to where the move will take place and incorporate them
into running a successful operation? With this transition this generates a shift and focus in my
day-to-day leadership styles. While I may have been use to an authoritative or directing
leadership style whereas I am accustomed to imposing expectations with defined outcomes in
my present location, I now may have to adjust to a transformational style bringing inspiration
and a vision to include adding servitude to the equation.
My main concern would be the employees and their established routines and
procedures, and how do we change directions for continuity of efficiency in processes with
my leadership style knowing that change brought to the organization who has placed their
trust in me and how I implement their vision of the transition to multinational corporation
gaining buy-in for all parties involved. This not only affect management but affects
all parties involved as well as and being a change agent for the way forward.
This will not be a simple transition and task, because the concern of culture and social
norms plays a key role and I must be sensitive and respect to include have a deep understanding
of the host country social and work culture that’s within the framework of wisdom of my own
values and belief . With this in mind, I must be able to adapt to the cultural practices, building
