Aspects of Emergency Services
Safety is an important requirement and affects everything that goes on at a fire station. The
Occupational Safety and Health Administration created in 1970 protects firefighters against
dangers arising at the workplace. These rules are enforced through investigations and inspections
of the firehouses and injuries at the workplace (Firehouse, 2021).
Education and training
All firefighters should get education and training in line with the functions and duties they
perform to guarantee their capability to provide the services and prevent and reduce injury. The
training is to be recorded, maintained, and availed for inspection by the district in-charge ("pesh /
osha compliance program", 2021).
Exposure to hazards
Firefighters should take on the hazardous materials operation course before handling
emergencies involving fire, toxic chemicals, radioactive substances, flammable fluids, and water-
reactive compounds. Training is to be gone by the departments, and the records are maintained
for annual submission to the district in charge ("pesh / osha compliance program", 2021).
Protective clothing

firefighters. At no cost and the departmental officers are to ensure proper utilization of the gear
by the members. Departments also provide protective face and eye devices for the members
