The Euro-Disney Project: Stakeholders Misunderstood?
Assume that you were the project manager for the Euro Disney theme park launch. What
in your view are the top five stakeholder groups that you would have identified?
The project manager would be the first stakeholder that I would have identified. He
would have first been able to estimate the budget, time, and quality of the project (Davis, 2014).
It would be necessary for the other stakeholders to be able to visualize and access the project
dimensions and improve the visibility of the project’s success. The next stakeholder would be the
client and user of the theme park (Davis, 2014). They are the suppliers, maintenance team, and
employees of the theme park. They would expect the theme park to meet its financial obligations,
communicate efficiently and help it be acceptable in the community. The next stakeholder would
be the end-user and consumer (Davis, 2014). Quality would be the most important expectation
followed by involvement and perceived value being received. The project team would be the
fourth stakeholder (Davis, 2014). They would ensure collaboration with the other stakeholders
and proper communication with top management. The fifth would be the senior management and
investors (Davis, 2014). They would help identify the major objectives to be met by the park in
France and promote investment and commitment to the project.
