Workplace discrimination and equal employment opportunity
In addition to factors such as quality, service, revenue, business performance, human resources
are also very important factors for the businesses. Each member is the decider of the company
success. In other words, human resources are the source of assets that the company needs to
know how to operate and protect. Employees have equal rights in all aspects. Enterprises need to
comply with the laws and regulations of the government to fulfill the role of an organization.
The company B.A.P was established in 2000, the main field is leasing financial services. With
145 employees including 80 female and 65 male staff divided into 10 departments. B.A.P is a
professional provider of financial services for the enterprises. They support the enterprises to
purchase new machines, production line without collateral as well as increase the working capital
by mortgaging the existing assets. During 11 years of established and development, B.A.P
becomes one of the most popular leasing financial company. In 2010, they expanded the office in
other provinces of Vietnam. In 2015, they expanded 3 offices in Taiwan, Hongkong.
The mission of B.A.P company is to take the organization further in Southeast Asia,
creating a friendly and professional workplace. Besides, B.A.P always tries to protect the
interests of employees. B.A.P’s long term goal is to build a civilized and fair working
environment. Equal employment opportunity (hereinafter referred to as “EEO”) helps to reduce
potential barriers of discrimination in workplace. EEO is safeguard by a number anti-
discrimination laws at federal and state levels. The business will have to comply with all
, applicable laws and so Vietnam does. In the working environment, there are always
problem related to discrimination such as gender, race, age, working hour, pay and disability.
The role of the EEO will help minimize the above problems for the organization like: peer-to-
peer prejudice between the employees, improve work force by helping the owner focus on the
skill, ability of the candidates instead of other factors. When discrimination barriers are broken
down, member will engage together more, creating an effective and unified organization. From
there, the organization will give the suitable development orientation for the company and
focus on better operation. Every year, labor law policies are updated regularly to protect the
interests of the employees. The business will have to follow and update the law strictly. Any
organization in Vietnam has to obligate policy issued by the government.
“Both men and women might feel more attached because their organization is being
socially responsible” [CITATION Wil08 \l 1033 ]. There are no evidences improved that the
particular job will suitable with female than male and versus. For instance, Gianni Versace is the
Italian designer who founded the famous fashion brand Versace. He was a fashion influencer of
the late 20th century. Today, the Versace brand is one of the most popular names in the world.
Mary W. Jackson was the first female of NASA colored engineer to make a great contribution to
the world with her sharp brain. Her main job is to carry out mathematical research, to support the
project to bring American astronauts into space and moon. This also proves that no job is
determined by gender or religion. Putting the right people in the right position, they will
maximize their own forte. In Vietnam, the Labor Code (No.45/2019/QH14) are passed and
updated by national assembly on Nov 20th, 2019 in Hanoi City, Vietnam. The new Labor Code
takes effect from January 1, 2021. To the B.A.P company, the most important that the
organization concerned is following three criteria: gender, pay, people with disabilities.
