Taking Steps to Achieve Goals
Thinking back on my time spent on this course, I have learned a lot about the goals I set
into place and certain things that will help me accomplish them. It is easy for me to sit here and
say I want to do something or accomplish something, but this class has helped me with the steps
to make them happen. In this essay, I will be going over my career goals, and the strategies I
have to maintain to achieve them, and how time management has played a major role in working
out my day-to-day life in a way I have found tons on time for productivity and working to
achieve my goals.
At the start of this course, I knew I wanted to begin to obtain a degree in Business so that I
could gain a position in the corporate office of Footlocker a lot faster than some. Doing this
would provide me with the head start I need to gain that position and soon achieve my main goal
to maybe become a head leader in our visuals department. Overall, my goals haven’t changed in
the bigger aspect, but some of my smaller goals have changed to reach certain academic
milestones that will allow me to achieve my main goal overall. These smaller goals include fully
mastering each course I take so that I can fully understand the curriculum and can be more in
touch with the business side of my career. This means I have to excel in all the courses I will take
based on my Degree Action Plan that I have set. These classes include Learning Strategies for
success, English Composition, General Psychology, Introduction to Business, and Principles of
Accounting, just to name a few. Though I may not have a mentor to help me I do have tons of
