Covid-19 has been stressful even to the best of us. It started off with a bang and doesn’t
seem to be ending any time soon, thousands are dying like leaves in autumn and family
members are being ripped apart each second.
When Covid-19 spread through our atmosphere we all thought the government was
making it up and it was labelled a conspiracy theory, and still is. I for one, thought that
the virus is not real and was just a way to keep people in their household and make the
economy collapse for absolutely no reason at all. I was scared, yes, the media was
doing a great and fantastic job at sharing huge statistics and numbers of people who
had died from acquiring the virus. I got so see people lying in hospital beds all over the
country and world but it still did not kick in.
It took one second for me to realize that death is real since I had not experienced it
myself as a 22-year old. I subconsciously knew it was real but it just hadn’t clicked in my
head yet. The one second that made me realize this was when I got a phone call that
my grandmother had passed on because of this deadly virus. I was shuttered and
broken, torn into pieces and shredded. Life didn’t make sense at all at that moment. It
felt like my own soul is the one that had left my body. The pain was surreal. It was
unbelievable. That one moment made me realize that the news wasn’t only talking
about statistics and numbers when it showed the death toll, I saw that it was talking
about real people with families and children. It all became too real and unbelievable for
me. Covid-19 made me realize that death is a real and unfortunate event. The fact that
