• A branch of Science which is concerned with
the study of motion of fluids under the
application of force.
• Fluids are classified as liquids and gases.
• Gases are easily compressible and expand to
fill any closed space.

• Density: It is the mass per unit volume.
• Specific weight: It is the weight per unit
volume
• Specific volume: It is the reciprocal of density
• Pressure: The normal force due to fluid per
unit area is called pressure
