Understand the difference between personnel
management and human resource management.
1.1 Distinguish between personnel management and Human
Resource Management.
Personnel Management is a conventional approach to the management of people in
business typically in small businesses; it included activities such as staffing, payroll,
contractual obligations and other administrative tasks. The role of a personnel manager is
more like a mediator between the employer and employees.
Personnel management is concerned with the purpose of human factors and also as a part
of the management .which is concerned with the human constituent of an
organization .Personnel management can also defined as field of management which is
concerned with planning ,controlling various operative functions.
Planning:
Determination of personnel program in advance:
Controlling: Regulating the activities in accordance with the plan.
Organizational objectives: it plays very important in developing organizational policies and
allocation of organizational resources by achieving all these objectives helps an organization
to gain it all over goals .objectives have a strong influence on the interaction ,with the
environment .Environment affect the determination of the organizational objectives.
Objectives must satisfy all the participant of the organization.
Profit Maximization: a hrprocess that companies undergo to determine the best output
and price level in order to maximize its return.
Explanation: is the traditional approach and the primary objective of financial management
it implies that every decision relating to business in the light of profit. Profit maximization is
good for company but bad thing for consumer if company decided to use cheap products or
decide to raise prices.If business faces tough competition sometimes the only way it can
survive is to pay extra attention to revenues and costs and adjust them accordingly. If the
result of the decision is perceived to have a positive effect on the profit the decision is taken
further for implementation.
