1.1 The Selection Process is a process where an organisation chooses the best
candidate to fill a vacancy or position. It entails making decisions
concerning if the candidate is a good fit or not.
It is a very critical process as selecting the wrong candidate can have a
negative impact on the organisation. 1
1.2 The following steps should be taken in selecting the new graduates:
- Preliminary Interview
A preliminary interview should be held to briefly meet with the
graduates to see if he/she has the right qualifications and persona for
the new communication division and what the organisation is looking
for.
- Written application
The new graduates should write a Written Application to Bakone
Holdings Pty (Ltd). It should agree with the legal requirements and
give insight into their strengths, weaknesses and potential.
- Employment Tests
An employment test is a way of getting insight into the graduates
personal characteristics and values, which cannot be seen in an
interview. It’s applicable to this position as the graduates will be in the
communication division.2
