Assignment 2
,P5 set up a standalone computer system, installing hardware and software
components
In this task I will describe how I am going to connect the devices into the computer system and how to
install software’s such as google chrome, adobe flash player, anti-virus software and CD/DVD drive.
Hardware
For the monitor, it is very easy to connect as you just must take the VGA port as shown below and put into
the VGA port at the back of the CPU. Once it connected the other end of the VGA port needs to be
connected to the back of the monitor. When the VGA wire is connected the screws at the ends of the wire
needs to be tightened, so the wire is properly fixed.
Mouse can be easily inserted as there is a specified port for it and it must be gently put into the port as if
force is used then the pins can be broken.
The keyboard is very similar to the mouse port and is very easy to connect but not too much force is
required.
, The power supply is the most important cable as it is supplies power to the PC and is easily connected in
the specified port. Once the wire is inserted the power can be switched on from the socket.
Hard Disk
When installing the RAM and the hard disk make sure that all wires are disconnected, and the PC is
unplugged also using an anti-static mat so that the PC or the person does not get hurt or the PC does not
get damaged. Then the CPU can be unscrewed, and changes can be made.
So, for hard disk it can be easily inserted into the PC there is a specific slot for it and then it can be
screwed in after that is done a SATA cable which is fully red in colour is connected to the hard disk and
another cable from the power supply is connected to the hard disk.
