On this page, show what you would write on the white board during the presentation stage, including: example sentences, timeline,
form and function.
Be realistic about how much you could put on the board during the lesson, and how much students would be able read and take notes
on.
Board Plan 1
(Items on board will gradually be added as indicated in italics. Items in italics are explanatory and will not be written on board)
Firstly, I will write down a model sentence on the left side of the board and analyzing it by asking many questions. After eliciting the meaning,
I will write it down on the board and ask if students know the name of this grammatical point. And then, I will write “First Conditional” on the
top of the board.
Secondly, I will adapt this timeline version and draw it on the right side of the board to explain students about the verb tense.
And then, I will elicit the form and write it down on the board.
First Conditional
If you study hard, you will pass your exam.
Condition results, real possibility
Meaning : to talk about events that are likely happen in the future
with results and consequences.
Form:
If ... simple present ..., ... simple future ...( will)
... simple future ... if ... simple present ...
E.g.: You will pass your exam if you study hard.
Wrong: If you will study more, your English will get better.
Right: If you study more, your English will get better.
