Came to the ED 4 days ago with N/V and severe abdominal pain and admitted for emergent surgery for a bowel perforation. During the scenario he began to complain about difficulty breathing and pain in his chest and right leg. Further tests indicated a possible DVT in the right leg which could lead to a pulmonary embolism. 2. History of Present Illness (HPI): Please provide a narrative summary of what has happened since the onset of symptoms to the day the student has assumed care. -Underwent a hemicolectomy -Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, pain in chest and right leg -Risk for Pulmonary Embolism due to DVT in Right leg 3. Past medical/ surgical Hx: -HTN 4. Home med list, including allergies: -ALLERGIES: Penicillin -Medications: Morphine and Heparin 5. Family Hx: Married, wife is next of kin 6.Social Hx: Retired postal service worker, smokes half a pack a day for the past 50 years
