Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) being a trending term nowadays includes the
controlling and monitoring the stations for the earth and the space settings to reach out or
navigate the different regional satellite systems. In other words it can be said that with the help
of US’s GPS, Russia’s GLONASS, EU’s Galileo and China’s Beidou (also called COMPASS) and
other several regional satellite systems GNSS can be characterized by highly precise, continuous
process with signals through the earth’s atmosphere and there are several applications
regarding GNSS that has been divided in five domains that are following in brief:
GNSS provides many useful applications regarding the navigation purposes like air
transport, maritime transport and terrestrial transport.
Presently, many companies are using GNSS for the survey of energy related
phenomenon (fuel extraction and mining) and food supply related fields (fisheries and
precise agriculture)
GNSS technology also provides many advanced technologies applications like timing
applications, scientific applications and helps to monitor the autonomous vehicles and
unmanned aerial vehicles.
