1. Checking Spelling and
Grammar in Word 2016
Word provides us tools that help us correct mistakes faster.
By default, word automatically checks our document for
spelling and grammar errors, so we may not even need to run
a separate check.
These errors are indicated by colored wavy lines.
Spelling mistakes are shown by wavy red underline.
Grammatical or misused words are shown in wavy blue
underline.
TO CORRECT SPELLING ERRORS:
1. Right – click the underlined word, then select the correct spelling from
the list of suggestions.
2. The corrected word will appear in the document.
You can also choose to Ignore All instances of an underlined word or add it
to dictionary
TO CORRECT GRAMMATICAL MISTAKES:
Right –click the underlined word or phrase, then select the correct
spelling or phrase from the list of suggestions.
The corrected phrase will appear in the document.
It is also possible to check for grammar and spelling all at once in a word
document to use grammar and spell checks follow these steps:
1. From the review tab, click the Spelling and Grammar command of
the Proofing group.
2. The Spelling and Grammar pane will appear on the right of the
window. For each error in your document, Word will try to offer one or
more suggestions. You can select a suggestion and Change to correct
the error.
3. Once the processing of the entire document is performed Microsoft
Word now displays a message dialog of its completion. Click on the OK
button.
