P3 Present one complex piece of work as an example to demonstrate the use of
resources within the studies.

In this task, I would be presenting a complex piece of work as shown above to demonstrate
the use of resources within my studies using this unit as an example .
And the unit I would be using is
Unit 10 Caring for children and young people.
My report is demonstrating the resources I used when completing my Unit 10.
I used three different types of resources which were.
● Lessons/Assignment brief
● Book
● Websites.
Lessons/Videos/Assignment Brief: My lesson resource was from my teacher Sarah Hill,
she taught us what a looked after child is, explained each and taught every stage very well in
class. We also watched videos of documentaries of looked after children which made me
understand and feel more interested in lesson and we also watched video advertisements
that were meant to create awareness about child abuse and neglect ,so many other video

resources and that gave me the solid foundation of resources of the knowledge I gained in
this course.
She also handed out booklets and assignment briefs which helped a lot with meeting the
criteria of my coursework. It contained a step by step process of writing up my coursework.
Mrs Sarah Hill is also a social worker and is well experienced and educated in this area
helped a lot, her information was factual ,knowledgeable ,interesting and I understood a lot
during our lessons .I asked questions in class and she always answered what I was
skeptical about , I noted down some resources in class which I used when writing my
coursework.
My tutor was able to give me so much helpful information and added with her work
background I knew she was well educated and experienced in that area and was giving me
factual information, This resource then helped me in achieving my criteria for this course.
Book: the book I used for my resources while writing up my coursework is
Stretch B and Whitehouse M – BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Health and Social Care
Student Book 2 (Pearson,2010).
This book helped as it is a huge resource in my course in general, it is the recommended
book for my course and it contains factual information, facts, step by step process to take
while writing up a particular course work.
It also helps in giving you a primary knowledge of what to write when doing your coursework,
you will understand what’s in the book and through the guidelines, you can start to write your
coursework to your understanding.
The book helped me when writing up my course work especially when I was writing
child-related and parental related reasons for a looked after child, it gave me the guideline I
needed and I was able to understand and meet the criteria for it.
It also helped me when I was writing legislation, policies and procedures involved when
taking care of a looked after child, this helped me a lot and I was able to get my guidance
from the book and meet the requirements and criteria of my coursework.
Websites: I also used websites , the websites are really helpful as it is a broad framework
where you can find loads of information from magazines, government websites, NHS
websites, HCPC and as well as Ofsted.
Websites were very helpful to me because they had a lot of broad information and I was able
to go in-depth with my work.
I also research things personally which gives me knowledge of some certain topics and i can
always apply it to my coursework when it relates .
It helped me especially researching my case study for child abuse eg The case of Gabriel
Fernandez and The case of Liam fee. This helped me a lot because without websites and
online news information I wouldn’t be able to know exactly what happened in detail and
have the amount of information I did that helped me in achieving the criteria for my
coursework.
