Testing for objects
All three types of object may become the subject in a passive sentence:
I bought her a bike. She was bought a bike
They have dealt with the transport crisis. The transport crisis has been dealt with .
I bought a bike for her.
When an indirect object co-occurs with a direct object, the indirect object comes first. It can be moved after the
direct object if preceded with to or for.
I wrote her a reference. I wrote a reference for her .
I sent her a letter. I sent a letter for her .
