Re: Implementing New Information System into the Organization.
As a system project manager in the implementation of the new proposed information
system that will transform how the organization operates, I will be describing the process of
implementing the system. As an organization, we understand that doing things the same way
produces the same poor results, hence the necessity of changes to improve the situation. Change
generates uneasiness, but every organization understands its benefits when done properly. The
new proposed information system is what our organization needs to transform its processes
towards serving clients better and satisfying their needs. The first key step to successful
implementation of the system is the organization management to show support, something that is
critical to the process. Because the support is already there, this memo seeks to address the
resources required for the process and the change management pattern to follow.
Many proposed information systems implementations fail mainly because of aggressive
and unrealistic implementation timeline as seen from the Susie Jeffer case study (Connelly et al
2015). Allocating ample time to analyze, design, plan, test, and execute is necessary. This helps
in getting a clear understanding of the unknown risks that relate to the process, opportunities that
the system will create, and proper allocation of resources for the process. Another issue as
identified from the case that can lead to disappointments is the failure to have clear requirements
and expectations of what the system can deliver (Macdougall, 2016). As the system project
