FILM NOIR: Elements of Noir in the Killers.

The killer represents elements of noir in the film and in the clip, it is seen through representation of a nightmarish sense of loneliness and estrangement through characteristics of the actors. For example, in the short clip, one of the actors seems in an estranged situation because he is been asked to commit a murder and he seems not comfortable with the idea. The topics are tight-knit with the hard-boiled crime fiction themes, and this evident because one of the characters talks about the murder, they should go a commit. There is a representation of male character victim, who is going to be killed by the men talking in this scene, which is an element of noir. One of the killers is concerned that his friend does not want to help commit the murder and he becomes cynical about it. The setting of the film has a very shadow lighting, and this is an element of film noir. This scene as a very close up shot with the low lights reflecting on one of the killers to bring an element of dark film. Through the low lighting the audience is able to see that there is something been plotted and this is the murder of the man been spoken about. The lighting also brings out the characters of the movie as the villains and this creates a good dramatic effect. The tonal variations of the characters reflect a cold war. The character in the scene uses high tones to show that are in a disagreement about something. It shows that the killer is in protagonist situation as he is trying to convince his friend that they are going to kill someone but the other person is not convinced that they should do it. Therefore, the theme, setting and character in the film display a film noir all through the film.
