Erythropoiesis is the method by which erythrocytes, the red blood cells are created. It is moved by
low levels of oxygen in circulation, which the kidneys discover making it produces the
hormone erythropoietin, it energizes multiplication and differentiation of red blood cells
precursors, which makes it increase the production of red blood cells.
“2. How would the hemoglobin content differ in a person living in Philadelphia (Elevation: 39
feet) compared to someone living in Denver (Elevation: 5280 feet)? Why? “
