Pre-Lab Questions:
”1. Describe the pathway of blood traveling through the closed system of the circulatory system starting
with the right atrium.”
First the right atrium receive blood from the vena cava (biggest veins) ; superior Vena cava and inferior
vena cava to the tricuspid valve, to the right atrium into the pulmonary valve to the pulmonary artery to
the pulmonary capillary then it goes to the pulmonary vein to the left atrium, into the mitral valve
(bicuspid valve) which then it goes into the left ventricle to the aortic valve to the aorta and then to the
large arteries , to the small arteries, to the arterioles then the gas and nutrients exchange (in the small
capillaries) to the venules, then the veins and back to the superior vena cava and inferior vena cava.
Then back to the whole cycle again.
