1. We all know that communication is one of the basic tools for a society to emerge. Yet, it
is very important to let people understand themselves regarding variety of issues that surrounds
them. Hence, because of the reason to be understood people tend to expand themselves further to
carry out certain objectives or their intended functions. But despite of the many ways to be
understood we could not neglect that sometimes at different episodes of our communication
unintended functions or language dysfunction happens. Let me discuss to you some important
communication functions which are ambiguous.
First on the list is about information. Transmitting relevant information is indeed very
important in our day-to-day living. Even in the academe, proper dissemination of information
should be observed to prevent conflicts and unwanted dilemmas. Yet, transmission of
information might also have some lapses. Let me give an example in a classroom setting in
which a teacher is discussing the lesson and yet the students are not in the appropriate condition
to accept the information. No feedbacks will happen, or it might be that if you call the student
s/he might not be able to answer you or might answer you sentences irrelevant to your question.
Hence, there is a communication dysfunction that is happening. Another concrete example also
is when person A tries to deliver an issue coming from the TV and yet person B has a strong
viewpoint on that issue. Therefore, there will be conflicting with ideas because no matter how
person A expresses his own stand on the issue, person B remains on his stand that might
somehow lead to making derogatory acts that should have to be avoided if possible. The attitude
of person B made the conversation brutal and unhealthy. Open-mindedness must be observed on
discussing serious matters.
Next in line is the delivery of instructions. Mostly, problems like this arise at home. It
usually happens when our parents let us run for an errand, yet the instruction is unclearly stated
or might be that we are not listening attentively because our mind is focusing on other things like
watching cartoons, playing games and the like. This would create wrong response on what has
been asked to you. Sometimes also is when we are told to make household chores. Even if the
first instruction is not yet done yet another instruction occurs and so on and so forth. Overlapping
of instructions would lead to confusion and laziness. Yet, tensions might occur that would lead to
being scolded by your parents. Classroom instructions also somehow lead to confusion. Because
some students do not understand the instruction or has not heard it well or is not listening, they
ended up having a failing remarks on their paper.
Another is when a person persuades on something. Persuasion is very powerful if you
know well with your craft or else you will end up problematic. Consider this example. Person A
