QUESTIONS / RESULTS:
1. Why are NAND and NOR gates called universal gates?
Ans. NAND and NOR gates are called universal gates because they can perform all logical
operations of basic gates like AND, OR and NOT by using these gates. Universal gates are
logic gate that are used to construct other logic gates.
1. If the 0 and 1 were inputs for a NAND gate, what would be the output?
Ans. If one of the inputs were high (1) and other is low (0) to the NAND gate then the
resulting value will be high (1).
2. If a signal passing through a gate is inhibited by sending a LOW into one of the
inputs, and the output is HIGH, the gate is an NAND
3. When used with an IC, what does the term "QUAD" indicates?
Ans. When used with an IC, QUAD indicates 4 circuits.
4. A High Voltage (5volt) stood for a TTL
Addition Task to be performed:
1. Implement OR gate using NAND gate.
