LINGUISTICS: CREOLE

PIDGIN English-based creole is derived from mixing and simplification of English words, where English of the main lexicon. Creole languages most often emerged in colonies located near the coasts of t he Atlantic Ocean or the Indian Ocean and they were influenced by English colonies. Creole languages include varieties that are based on French, English, among other others. Example, Singlish is an English-based creole language that is spoken in Singapore, a contact language between Hokkien, Malay, Teochew, Cantonese and Tamil speakers. For example, very good is said as damn good eh. Pidgin is developed for communication between two or more groups that do not have a language in common. The interaction is mostly formed between European and Non-European speakers. An example is the Chinese Pidgin English which is formed from a pidgin language lexically based on English, but influenced by a Chinese language.
