The techniques learned by artists are used to control a viewer in many aspects. Artists may be interested in a universal truth, but in order to communicate it, they create illusions or manipulate things to get at that truth. You will gain a better understanding of the power of colors, the connections they have to each other, and how the brain is affected and manipulated by images. The illuminating critical thinking process of deciphering art is a strong metaphor on how life can be enriched by seeking out the truth with information and effort. By completing this module, you will master the following competencies: • Recognize how the elements of art contribute to an individual’s ability to focus in the workplace. • Evaluate various forms of art and their impact on the workplace. • Formulate systems for utilizing the benefits of art and apply them to everyday life and work. • Develop visual problem solving skills for personal and professional life. • Identify how elements of art can contribute to happiness, reduction of stress, and increase of morale in the workplace This module will review color key points in regard to: • Contemporary designers use ideas of past masters. • Stereotypes of artists are not always true. • Artists use illusion to communicate universal themes. • The artist will sometimes react against culture.
